Question about 'Share an Internet Connection'

I have a question about Share
an Internet Connection:
Do I need to have a cable going from my 2nd ethernet card to the hub? I already have
one from the first ethernet card going into the hub. I have an internal DSL modem,
an ethernet card to communicate out to the other PC (thank God there's only one at
this point) and a 2nd ethernet card as recommended for the ICS. I am getting an error
on boot up that the computer address was already on the network, and I creating a
circular reference by having both these cards wired to the hub?
Thanks,
Julie Walker

If you have a internal dsl modem then you should only need one network
card to connect to hub or other computer.

The error on boot is probably caused by your having given both ethernet cards the
same IP address. Increment the last digit on one IP address and see if it eliminates
the problem.

Actually the instructions on this website say to let the IP address be assigned automatically.
