Hi Chris -
Thanks for posting. Generally, S11=50 works for most. Also, adding the letter M
and 0 (zero) will, in most cases, kill the modem noise on connect.

It takes approx. 3 seconds for your modem to dial a phone number -everything that
happens after that is out of your control - data transfer and logon procedures and
all that.
Do you really think that forcing you modem to dial your ISP's phone number in 1.5
seconds instead of 3 seconds is getting you anywhere in life ??
All it does is increase your chances of getting a misdial , especially if you are
on an older phone network...
Sit back and relax guys ,this isn't a race.......
(or get cable or DSL)

I AM IN CONTRROOOLLLL! *(@?%@@
Chill out GM --- it's just a tip, nothing more; some folks may not like to listen
to the modem noise on connect.
Like vern would say, no comments from the peanuts!
(just kidding)

Yes, That's tru, 3 seconds for a normal modem. But all don't have the money for cable,
DSL,T1 or T3 such a tip do not help you to get a faster conection, but conect to
the Net in 1.5's. Want to get more speed on a modem try Easy MTU, It helped me.

This feature can be reached by clicking on your modem within your control panel.
Highlight the modem you want to use and click Properties, then choosing the Connection
tab will show you a window that contains Advanced.
Add "S11=25" within the Extra Settings box. (or whatever speed suites you 8-)
