Question about 'Identifying the programs that Windows runs at boot'

I have a question about Identifying
the programs that Windows runs at boot:
I have 2 run folders in the registry. On eis run with a plus before it and one in
run-. Why would this happen and could it cause lock ups?

The Run- key contains any registry items you may have disabled (unchecked)
under the Startup tab of msconfig. This is normal windows operation. The only conflict
I can think of is if you had duplicate entries in both the Run and Run- keys.

Ok...that looks Ok but I have a new problem. When I start windows, I can see the
hard drive light and hear the system loading up. After all of my desk top items
and tray items are loaded, the light stops and the system locks. Nothing works at
all. Sometime the system will get to that point and reboot itself for some reason.
Any ideas what might cause this or how to diagnois this? I have unplugged my cd
rom (this caused something like this in the past) but nothing has changed. And then,
sometime the system will start properly.
Thanks

I don't have a specific solution to your new problem, but there are a couple things
you could try: - Delete temporary internet files, clear History, get rid of all
unnecessary cookies; clean out your Temp folders, get rid of personal files you no
longer need, and empty the Recycle bin. Then do a scandisk and defrag. - Try disabling
all unnecessary items from the Startup tab of msconfig, including anti-virus software
that may run at boot-up. See if it makes a difference. Good luck.
