Question about 'Can't access some websites while using a shared PPPoE connection'

The final registry key listed in the article is "Net", however the correct registry
key you should be checking under is "NetTrans". There you will find the TCP/IP values
that match the description above. And it is in those keys that you should place the
MaxMTU value. Also you will not have to worry about the decimal bit vs binary selection
mentioned above.

I followed this fix and it didn't seem to work for me. A couple questions to those
in the know:
1) Under the "Net Trans" folder there were a number of numbered subfolders, several
of which had "TCP/IP" values under DriveDesc. I went in and added the appropriate
MaxMTU on all of them. Was that the right move?
2) Also in one of the folders there was a "TCP/IP" value with a MaxMTU of "1400".
I tried changing it to "1492" one time and leaving it the same the other -- didn't
seem to make a difference.
I'm using two Linksys 10MB Phoneline USB network adapters off two Dells (one running
Windows XP (host), the other with Windows 98) in order to share our DSL. Any thoughts
would be appreciated.
TC.

correction to article

Yeah, It's under NetTrans instead of Net.
And instead of adding a new string, add a new DWORD. Then when you modify it, you
will be able to set the base to Decimal. (the String doesn't have a decimal option.)

Yes! It is working fine under W95 and W98 with new value 1470. MaxMTU should be under
NetTrans, where all parameters TCP located.
