How do you add sound to a shutdown screen?

Back in '96 or '97 my roommate's computer displayed a Buddha ranting an audible Buddhish chant everytime it shutdown. I've done a little searching on the myriad of websites that offer startup/shutdown screens, yet none of them write of how to add sound to these screens. If there is anybody out there in cyberspace that knows how to add sound to startup/shutdown screens, please write. Thanks.

You need to copy your .wav file to the windows\media file, i.e., C:\windows\media. Then go to control panel-->sounds and open the sounds icon. From there you should see a menu that enables you to add sounds for the various commands, including exiting windows
