Question about 'What to do about a Page-fault, Illegal operation, or Fatal exception Error'

We have windows98, and when we try to shut down a fatal exception 0E at 0028:BFF88112
comes up over 75% of the time. The worst part is that the only way to shut down
from that screen is to unplug the computer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

hi i'm bob
start the computer.start-find,type in system. scroll through the files. when
you find, reopen. should work. if it asks you to save, put it where you can find it.my
documents. don't worry about opening the file. it has probably been damaged by shareware
. another program. this type of thing is not terribly uncommon.

I get that same fatal exception error - 0028:BFF88112. I didn't follow your response,
bob. When we scroll through the system files, what should we reopen?
