Charles,
To replace the Startup and Shutdown screens first delete the files "LOGOW.SYS" and
"LOGOS.SYS" in the C:\Windows\ Directory. Then you need to get the originol ones
back. Put the following address into your browser and download this file:
http://www.bmsaf.co.uk/logo.zip
and extract it into the "C:\Windows\" Directory. Then Restart your PC. If the screens
do not appear then run "Regclean.exe" in the Zip File.
(A backup will be made, store it safely incase somthing goes wrong!)
Hope this helped. E-Mail me Cypher@bmsaf.co.uk if you need any more help.

If the machine is shutting down OK, it's probably not
giving the shutdown logo time to appear. Don't stress about it!
