Right click desktop, be sure View as Web Page is checked under Active Desktop then
click on Properties-clk on the Effects Tab-check Hide icons when the desktop is viewed
as a web page-clk Apply-Ok. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure if you're interested in downloading a program to take care of
hiding all icons, but I use Desktop Reflections from Narrowgate and it's a
wonderful program. It allows you to hide the icons either on startup or just a click
of the mouse. This is the website:http://www.thenarrowgate.com/dtr.html
