How do I add network neighborhood? I'm using Win98SE on a self-built computer, have
ICS, and want to share files between 2 computers. Have network neighborhood icon/accessability
on the other pc but not on this one.

Once you have installed any networking components in "Control Panel"/ "Network" the
icon will appear on your desktop. Good Luck!

I wish that were true, Michael, but it is not! This computer is the ICS "host,"
and it is also connected to a cable modem. All network protocols are in place and
functioning, but no network neighborhood icon on the desktop or in Win Explorer.
Thanks!

This may be dumb - but is it only the icon that you need? If so, did you look in
C: , Program Files, Plus, Themes, and then scroll almost to the end?

hey i think in order to have "network neighborhood" appear on the desktop yuo need
microsoft client configured in control panel applet
once you add the "client for microsoft networks" you will get the thing on the desktop
(unless policies are in place the forbade it being there which is unlikely)
so maybe go to the control panel applet and pick "add" then pick "client" then pick
microsoft as the vendor, and client for M$ networks as the desired client
but in fact the desktop icon is to enable file sharing and print sharing amongst
microsoft computers, it will neither help nor hender your ICS
ICS is a different use of your network then the file and print sharing of MS windows,
different redirectors need to be in place on your machine to do the ICS than to do
the network neighborhood
