Question about 'Troubleshooting Driver Problems'

I have a question about Troubleshooting Driver Problems:

I just downloaded a driver update for ATI Rage pro128 and Microsoft DirectX8 and restarted my system but now my monitor is black after the boot up. It can tell it does boot up all the way because it plays the windows music. I can boot to safe mode but I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be great.

Make sure you downloaded the correct driver for your video card. My daughter downloaded the wrong driver and never did get it to work, she couldn't see anything on her monitor to go about fixing the problem and wound up buying and installing a new video card.

Just wanted to let you know that all is well. I removed the current ATI adapter and windows detected new hardware and I was able to reinstall it fine. Thanks for all your help.
