I have a question about Things that slow down system bootup:

I have just changed a multimedia card (DVD decompressor) from pci slot 3 to pci slot 1 (previously occupied by a network card) because it needs pci bus mastering to funcion properly, and after that the boot has passed from about a minute to more than three minutes. I did no other changes to the system. could someone give me an explanation?
