I have a comment about Speed
up system restart:

Note: if you have trouble saving your edited MSDOS.SYS file, the following instructions may help. First, find the MSDOS.SYS file, either by opening an Internet Explorer window and typing C:\ into the Address window, or by using Windows Explorer or Start > Find (or Start > Search, as applicable). In any case, once you find it, right-click it and select Properties, then un-check the box next to Read-only and then click OK. Now edit the file by double-clicking it and if a "Open with" window appears, select "Notepad", making sure the box next to "Always use this program..." is left UN-checked! Next, close the window and a box will appear asking if you want to save the changes. Select Yes. Now, just to be safe, go back to the icon for the MSDOS.SYS file and right-click it again and select Properties, then put the checkmark back in the box next to Read-only. This will prevent any accidental changes in the future.

If you edit the MSDOS.sys file with Notepad there is a way to do it much faster. When you have the save dialog on the screen right-click on the existing file and click properties. Un-check Read-Only, click OK, and save away!
