Question about 'How do I make the background of desktop icon text transparent?'

There is a neat little utility called TransText that runs on Windows startup that
makes backgrounds of icons transparent (or you can make the icon background and icon
text a particular colour if you so wish).
It is only 32k.
It definitely works with W95 and W98, not sure about 2000 or XP.

I installed TransText and yes, it did remove the blue boxes encasing the text. Problem
is, the text is either yellow, red or orange. I tried to change the codes in the
TransText box but I was simply guessing. What I need to know is the color code for
white text. Thank you.

I haven't tried TransText, but I have used Iconoid
(freeware) for a few years. It does transparent text and has a lot of nice other
options too, like hiding icons after the desktop has been unused for a while, and
letting you save and restore icon positions in case Windows decides to rearrange
the icons.

What type of color codes does it want? If they look like "#000000" the color code
for white is "#FFFFFF". If it wants you to enter values for red, green, and blue,
enter the maximum available value for all three and you will get white.
