Question about 'Clear Unwanted Entries from Add/Remove Programs'

I have a question about Clear Unwanted Entries from Add/Remove Programs:

last year I stupidly dowloaded a music site called,'spy song'...it wasn't completely built at the time but I didn't know it. Because it wasn't built, I was unable to completely install it and uninstall it. I have gone to the add/remove programs lots of times to delete it but a very small window pops up and says it is a wizard uninstall and cannot be deleted. How do I get rid of this and do you think it could cause problems? It has been in my computer for about a year or less. thanks

Go to Start-Find-Files or Folders and see if anything comes up there. Run Ad-Aware
to see if it has installed any 'junk'- available here: http://www.lsfileserv.com/
Then if your comfortable with the registry do a search there for Spy Song.

You might try to reinstall it and if it is complete it should have the uninstall
with it. Then do the Add/Remove. I have had to do this with other programs.

All Windows 9x or NT compatible programs must include an Uninstall program, sometimes
though the program may get removed but entry in Add/Remove programs doesn't, from
this key you can remove those orphaned entries.
Open your registry and find the key below. Under this key will be a number of sub-keys,
each representing an installed application.

To see which application each sub-key represents, open it and there should be at
least two values 'DisplayName' and 'UninstallString'. 'DisplayName' is the name used
in the Add/Remove programs list, and 'UninstallString' is the program used to uninstall
the application.

To remove a program from the list you can simple delete the sub-key representing
that program.

Settings:
Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]

Disclaimer: Modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require you
to reinstall your operating system. I cannot guarantee that problems resulting from
modifications to the registry can be solved. Use the information provided at your
own risk.

Are you sure the program exists on your computer? Can you find its program folder in windows explorer? Does it appear under Start menu/Programs and have an uninstall option which usually runs an uninstall wizard? If not, you can remove the entry from "Add/Remove Programs" with Microsoft's powertoy "tweakui.exe". It is included with the Win98 CD.
