Question about 'Ide Controllers not working'

Hi
I have upgraded to an Athlon xp1500+ system and the primary and secondary ide controllers
are not working. The VIA 4-in-1 drivers are installed. There seems to be an MS-DOS
Compatibility problem as the ide controllers are using windows 98 drivers.
I have tried reinstalling and checking the registry for NOIDE's with no luck.
Any magicians out there???
Thanx
Bren

Did you take a look at Hard Drive
controllers under Device Manager. Can be
reached thru my computer, control, panel,
system and the devive manager tab.
Click Hard drive controllers and see
what is listed. It may be flagged with
yellow or red flag if not working
properly.

Have you checked with the web site for the motherboard you are using? If you are
running Win98, then the system should be using Win98 drivers. Amke sure you have
the latest set of VIA 4-in-1 drivers for your motherboard model for Windows 98 (not
for Win XP)
