Can you combine the router and software approach?

I have a question about Share an Internet Connection:

If I have a 4-port router, can I hook up a "host" to one (or more) of the ports and use Win98's ICS on that "sub-net"?

If you are using cable / xDSL internet connection ,you can
plug the cable from your modem directly into the router
and then plug the other computers in the ports on the router.
No ICS needed..

All computers involved will need NIC cards ,though...

If you are on dialup ,I'm not sure this would be possible....
Maybe some else knows if it is...

If using cable/xdsl you will have to call your ISP and let them
know to use the MAC address from your router instead
of the NIC card you are using now

Good site for networking info:
