Question about 'Get Rid of the Recycle Bin'

I have a question about Get Rid of the Recycle Bin:

I tried to read the other questions first, and there aren't really any solid answers, but I guess I will try anyway... After deleting the Bin from my desktop, I can no longer restore files from the recycled bin in my C drive. In Windows Explorer, when I click on Recycled Bin, the only thing in there is an 'Info' file....what is that? The file size gets larger when I delete more things, but this info file can never be deleted. How can I get the Recycled Bin to display it's contents again?!

If you did this less than4 days ago you should be able to get back where you were with a registry restore. Reboot the computer and hold down the Ctrl key until the Startup menu appears. Select Command Prompt only and enter scanreg /restore. Choose a registry backup that predates the start of the problem.

For details about restoring the registry see: Windows 98 Registry Backup and Restore

If you can't do what Bob says, I think you can go to your root directory and do whatever
from there. It is a hidden file. Not sure about that but it is worth a try.

Bob,
In my root directory is the folder "Recycled." I open it and it has the files I have
deleted to my recycle bin. I don't know if this unusual, to have it there but never
the less it is present. Whether removing the Recycle icon from the desk top, also
removes the one in the root directory I have no way of knowing.

Yeah, OK, I guess I was imagining you were suggesting something about some file in the root, not the Recycle bin in the root directory.

Ok, I did this the other day - deleted my recycle bin. I cant find it in my windows explorer. I tried some of the other quick reg lines and nothing. When I delete items it gets sent there, but there is no way for me to delete it from there. To bypass the bin, I hit shift and delete. What I need to know is - I dont care if there is an icon on my desktop for it, but where is it stored in my harddrive... I use to have a icon in explorer but now nothing is there. Is there a path or folder name I dont know. I searched for recycle bin and nothing. Just want to empty my bin and have no way of doing this. Thanks in advance, This is killing me, Jason
