Question about 'Things that slow down system bootup'

I want to turn diskscan off when windows 98 restarts. I don't seem to have TweakUI
in control panels or MSConfig.

Amy,
You can download TweakUI right on this website. On the left is a link to the software
section.

For MSConfig click Start/Run type msconfig. Click Advanced, check "Disable scandisk
after bad shutdown."

You should find out why ScanDisk starts after a bad-shut-down as your system has
a fault if ScanDisk starts at start-up. You may need the shut-down patch from www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
and should apply ALL of the other system-critical and security patches too. Iain.

Hi Amy, actually there's another way to disable scandisk after bad shutdown rather
than using TweakUI. First, use the run command in the start menu, then, type msconfig.
It will then load up 'system configuration Utility'. Then click on 'advanced...'
and check the box 'Disable Scandisk after bad shutdown' . I' hope this will help.
