In Win ME (4-90-3000), the OS product Key is not saved in system.dat
neither is in user.dat, has microsoft decided to keep elsewhere ?

You can still find it if you go to regedit and search for productkey. It is there.

I have 'defaulted' my browser to Win98, after posting then 'waked-up'
that I should have posted in WinME. The next minute I posted the
same question in WinME.
Sorry to all who feel irritated seeing WinME staff in Win98.

Sorry but it doesn't work that way for me, search for productkey finds nothing.
