Go to C:\windows\system and run 'msconfig.exe' this shows what programs and such run at startup, u can untick the ones u dont want to run or tick those that u want to run.

NO NO! Select START\RUN then type MSCONFIG in the 'Open' box and press enter
or click 'OK'. What is it you need to know?

Here's a list of Startup items: Startup Listings

This site will give you the information you need regarding what the listings are
actually for.

referring to "http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_full.htm" - some people have too much time on their hands!

You can't just uncheck anything you wish!! Some of those are necessary/important
to leave alone, and you need to find out first.
