I start my computer, and then it goes into Windows 98. I see the desktop, and then I wait for a while, and the C: folder always automatically pops up and I have to close it. Is something missing from startup that's making it do this?

Try looking in Msconfig for an entry to the C:\ folder.

Start/Run and type in msconfig then OK it.

Click on the "Startup" tab and look in the list, uncheck the box if found, OK out
and re-start the PC.

Hi Scott -

See if the MS article helps: Windows Explorer Starts When You Start Your Computer (Q228502)
