Question about 'Troubleshooting Driver Problems'

I have a question about Troubleshooting
Driver Problems:
I have recently acquired a tiger computer that has been upgraded from 95 to 98. I
have no sound at all and the cd-rom will not play media on any player.Under multimedia
drivers; audio, midi devices&instruments, mixer devices and line input devices are
listed as no drivers installed. This computer was used in a business , and I'm wondering
if it was purposefully set up like that because there is one in the office where
I work that reacts the same way. Under cd-rom drive it lists mitsumi cd-rom FX3205
!B and UTI as the drives (hardware?) in device manager. Also I am bombarded with
"have to close program" or "illegal function" messages out of the blue. Any help
would really be appreciated.

Hi Jay,
Look at the rear of the computer where the cables connect (monitor, mouse, keyboard
etc.). Are there any jacks/connections listed as Speaker, Line In/Line Out? It may
very well not have an audio card installed. If you find that type of connections
on the rear, remove the cover and get the card information, it should be on the card.
The drivers can be found on the net.
