I wonder if anyone can help? My sister has a camcorder JVC Digital video camera GR-DV1 and is able to display images and film through TV and VCR. However, she would like to reproduce the stills on her computer using Windows 98. Is this possible? She has no connecting lead and is unsure of what to buy. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Hi,

She will need to use a video capture device which can be an internal or external
piece of hardware. It will come with some type of software editing program to save/edit/copy
to CD-R or DVD-R disks, etc. Older DV cameras usually don't have any means of transferring
video digitally like USB or Firewire. They just have audio and analog video out jacks
(S-video) which are meant to connect to a TV or monitor.

An example of this type of device can be seen at the link below...

To 'Mojoe" Thanks very much for your response and your helpful advice - together with the link to the required device. I have printed copies of both documents and I am sure my sister will find them very useful. Thanks again, Elsie Hall
