Besides the temporary internet files, where else are these files stored and how can
I get rid of them?

Did you check through the article What to Throw Away in the link? What is it you
are uncertain about? Usually, temporary files - with a tmp name - are in \Windows\Temp
but there can be other places. Try this
Open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer which is your browser). Select C: in
the left hand column. Then go to Tools in the top toolbar and select Find, then
Find Files and Folders. In the top box of the menu, enter *.tmp and then click on
Find Now button to the right. It will search for all files named tmp in every folder
and display them in a list. You may then choose to delete them.
