I made this change and it didn't work, however when I entered "FALSE" as "False", that fixed it!

you edited something so that we all know. Thank you. Iain.

Hi Iain, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Advanced.

Right click an open area in the right pane and select New>String Value

Name it StartMenuScrollPrograms

Double click this entry and add the value false

Are you running 98 now?

Carl

Practically since I found Delindex in French and turned off system restore, increasing
the MaxBackupPages in scanreg.ini to 10.

Nice defrag for you: Diskeeper Lite v7.0 , wil run autmatically in the background
like VoptXP. (Install and uninstall the 30 day trial version first, setting the "Set
and forget" feature to defrag every day, then install the Lite version. You then
get automatic daily defragging for free, with everything running. Quick too! ;- )

Thanks for the reply for the '98s as most people I know run '98 and would not thank
you for ME.

How is your XP going?

Iain

Hi Iain, sorry about taking so long to post this, it was late Saturday night when I made my earlier reply then I turned in for the night and had to get up this morning for work - yep, have to work Sundays! :(

http://www.fairlanes.com.au/ - Where I work - shameless plug!

XP is working fine, I kinda miss 98 though - might have to reformat soon and set up a dual boot I think...

...Carl...
