On my Windows 98 system (Ver 1) I move the cursor over the taskbar - press and hold the left mouse button and move it to the desired location. Top, bottom, right, or left side. It will stay in this location till you move it. If you click and hold on the top line of the bar and move away from the screen edge you can create a additional bar. If you left click on the bar and click on properties you can change several other things on the bar. Injoy - Bob
