Abdul,
1. Check in Control Panel, System to see if you have any devices that are not operating
properly (with ? next to them).
2. Disable all startup items except Explorer, Systray and your antivirus programs
- Start->Run MSCONFIG
Startup ... uncheck all entries except those mentioned. Disable AUTOEXEC.BAT and
CONFIG.SYS (rename them AUTOEXEC.000 and CONFIG.000). If your problem has gone away
on rebooting, then you can start reenabling things one at a time until you find the
source of your problem.
3) Load the latest drivers for your sound card and video card and reinstall Direct
X.

Do you have a CD for the motherboard you are using? You may need to load drivers
for chips on the motherboard.
