You can always experiment with them later on. After signing off, run the scan, then click 'Check All', and have SpyBot remove all it finds. It's a good idea to always reboot after installing or uninstalling a program. It's not necessary after downloading the updates. If you mean, reboot after the scan, I don't think you need to reboot. I'd never thought of it, but it may not be a bad idea. Then after the install, once you're online again, before running it, you need to start it up and check for updates (includes)and download those. Actually, it's not to often to check for updates a couple times a week.
