Question about 'Resolving Hardware Conflicts'

I have a question about Resolving
Hardware Conflicts:
I have attempted on a number of occasions to upgrade my OS from Win 95 to Win 98.
However, every time I do it I get a resource conflict with my modem (Zoom), sound
card (SB Live) and my SCSI controllers (CD-ROm and HDD). with the results I have
no modem, sound or CD rom. The resource tab for all of these devices says there is
no conflicts!!!
When I reinstall '95 everything is fine but as soon as I try to reinstall '98 the
same probelm keeps cropping up.
Has anyone any idea what is wrong. I have updated the drivers for all of the above
devices but to no avail.
Thanks for any help

There are probably resolutions for each of your problems. The proper way to resolve
them is one issue at a time. As an example, there's a link below that is common with
certain drive controllers after installing Win98. Modem and sound problems can be
similar issues, or incompatible drivers. Check this link to see if it explains your
CD rom problem.

to Access CD-ROM Drive After Installing Windows 98
