I have a question about How do I uninstall Windows?:

Help! I'm tryig to fix my sister's computer. apparently, she had win2000 then she installed win98 and everything atarted going wrong. for instance, only 2 colors or 16 colors available; can't change resolution. how can I uninstall windows 98? SHE LOST ALL THE SOFTWARE that comes when you buy a comp. So i need basic instructions for DOS. thanks shane PS email me at shane@NOSPAM.reed.edu take out the NOSPAM.

Try running scandisk from the bootdisk. Otherwise you will need to format and start over. Or try this question on the 2000 forum. Iain.

Sorry. Start the computer with the bootdisk already in the A:\ drive and type:
A:\>scandisk /all when you get there. Also try A:\>scanreg /restore and see if there 
is a date before the install to restore too. Iain.
