Question about 'What to Throw Away'

In my windows directory, I have over a 1000 of these .TMP files that look similiar
to this:
fffe0615_{7C301EE1-9C30-11D6-B287-E2A8FE440134}.tmp
Can these be safely deleted?
Thanks!
Scott

You can delete anything that comes up using the Find - Files or folders, for *.tmp.

You can also delete the contents of the Windows\temp folder.

Here's a link to a Microsoft Knowledge Base article which
tells you where those files are coming from, and how to stop getting more of them.MSKB article

Amanda,
You might want to check the .TXT files to see what they are for, before you start
deleting them. Log files can usually be deleted, BUT it's not noted on this site,
that you should NOT delete install.log files. Programs need those, when you go to
uninstall them.
Myself, I save a lot documents as text files, rather than using the .DOC extension
that MS Word uses. There'll probably be a lot of Readme.txt files, and if you know
the how to for what they're related to, those can pile up, so get rid of them, if
you no longer need them.
