temporary internet file

Ok, I downloaded this file and everytime I go into the folder that this file is in, my computer freezes up. So far i've deleted my My Documents folder and created a new one. But there's one problem- it's still in my temporary internet files folder. I don't have any idea how to get rid of the file because if I go into the folder, my computer freezes completely. I'm not even sure if the temporary internet files folder will delete this file itself. If anyone can help me with deleting this file I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Hi Randy,

Try this program, it will nuke it all including the .dat files from DOS. Use
version 1.16: Spider

Or you can do the following : Enter DOS. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command, and pressing Y if you are prompted to confirm folder deletion: cd\windows deltree cookies deltree history deltree tempor~1 exit NOTE: Be very careful, DO NOT deltree the Windows directory, make sure the prompts looks like this: C:\WINDOWS\Cookies> C:\WINDOWS\History> C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files> Just use the deltree tempor~1 if that is all you want to delete. One other way is just delete the IE5 folder under TIF and it will recreate itself on reboot.

Sorry about that, I always forget the check box for spacing:

Enter DOS.

At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command,
and pressing Y if you are prompted to confirm folder deletion:

cd\windows
deltree cookies
deltree history
deltree tempor~1
exit

NOTE: Be very careful, DO NOT deltree the Windows directory, make sure the prompts
looks like this:

C:\WINDOWS\Cookies>
C:\WINDOWS\History>
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files>

Just use the tempor~1 delete if that is all you want to get rid of.

You can also delete the IE5 folder under TIF and see if that will get rid of it.
The folder will recreate itself on next boot.
