Question about 'Force Outlook XP to allow EXE file attachments'

I have a question about Force
Outlook XP to allow EXE file attachments: In attempting to follow the directions
to correct this problem, in my registry editor, after opening the "office" Folder,
I do not have the Folder "10.0". The highest numbered folder that I have is "9.0",
which I select, but once that is open I do not have the "security" sub-folder in
the "outlook" folder. I have even opened the "8.0" Folder and again there is no
"security" folder. Where can I find the answer to allow outlook to allow e-mail
attachments?
Thank you, Jeff

This info is for Outlook 2002....
If this is not the version you are using , then you won't
find it....
It's there in mine.........
I'll bet you're not running Outlook 2002......
2000 Maybe....??

You ARE using OUTLOOK , right..??
Not OUTLOOK EXPRESS....??
2 different programs - but you'd be amazed how many
people think they can use the terms interchangeably...
Outlook Express 6.0 will mess you up with
not allowing attachments as well...........

I normally use "Outlook Express". That is what I am used to using. I will try to
use "Outlook" and see what happens. Thanks.

Make sure you are opening HKEY_CURRENT_USER and not HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
The Key is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Security
Create a New String Value Called Level1Remove
and for Value add the extensions you want to be able to view Example EXE
If you are using Office XP the key would be
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10\Outlook\Security

you will need to specify i.e. *.EXE;*.COM;*.BAT for example, under the LEVEL1REMOTE
key.
