Question about 'Troubleshooting Driver Problems'

i installed windows 98 and after installation it was looking for dirvers and it asked
to insert windows 98 second edition cd. when i do that it is looking for d:\windows\system\precopy.
then it says it can not be found. i have no sound and my video card is not installed

If this is an OEM installation, it may be looking for a driver CD?

Did you install the motherboard drivers? You should have a CD for the motherboard
(or PC) with drivers etc.

Try going to control panel, Add New Hardware, and find driver disks for each item
in the list. When you do, make sure to go "update driver", not "reinstall driver",
and have disk, browse, and go the exact directory of the driver. It's usually pretty
easy to find, usually under a win98 folder.

pull all fouled hardware, reinstall windows, install pulled hareware. if windows
cd key doesent work use key generator.
