I have a question about Remove
DoubleSpace/DriveSpace from memory:

These hidden files are files type AVG (antivirus)Update, but were created in '98. How can this be? Will deleting these hose my AVG? Is it possible to have compressed files with dspace having never used this tool? Is there a measurable advantage to removing these files with 256M ram on w98 4.10 system? Thank you in advance.

Just my opinion............
  • These hidden files are files type AVG (antivirus)Update, but were created in '98. How can this be? *I don't think so......AVG may have detected them as a problem. Shut down AVG while deleting!
  • Will deleting these hose my AVG? *Nope!
  • Is it possible to have compressed files with dspace having never used this tool? *Compressed files yes, but created within another format or program.
  • Is there a measurable advantage to removing these files with 256M ram on w98 4.10 system? *Yep, as the article you referred to mentions, but probably will not be noticeable.
