Question about 'Bypass the ''Connect To'' Dialog Box'

I have a question about Bypass
the "Connect To" Dialog Box:
This has some relavence to the topic, it concerns a dropped connection then the dialog
box prompting to reestablish the connection. Some times I would have downloads scheduled
over night and timed auto shutdown. But when the connection drops before the shutdown
time, the reconnection prompt prevents the computer from completing the shutting
down. The computer closes everything else except the dialog box.
Using win98SE with DUN 1.4 by the way. This problem has been bugging me for over
a year, any helpful tip is appreciated.

you could try going to Control
Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab , and select "Never dial a connection"
. hit Apply. according to windows, this "Specifies that Internet Explorer not
automatically dial a connection for you when you need to connect to the Internet.
You must first manually start your dial-up connection and then connect to the Internet."
good luck.
