wouldn't do you much good....if you were thinking
you were going to be able to use the "speed" of
the DSL....

It may be fast at the office ,but after it slows down
through your 56K modem , you will see no speed
difference between that and your reg ISP....

If you want to use it for another application other
than speed ,then maybe you should explain what it
is you would like to do....

Win98 on it's own, can't really act as a "server"....
There's Internet Connection Sharing , but that's
not really going to help you...

win98 cant act as a server? Why did u said so? of course win98 does not have all the best feature of a windows server can offer because it's designed as a desktop OS but it can be use to serv as a server. How about PWS and Apache arent they servers installable in Win98 not mentioning other types of servers. (Only a creative mind could say: There is always a possibility in every way.)

In fact it will be slower than an ISP. Unless you have ISDN dial in you'll get 33.6K MAX.

I also want to be able to setup a mini-isp so that my friend can connect to me through dial-up and share my ADSL connection. I don't care how slow the connection is, the main point is that I want to be able to act like an ISP and ppl can connect to me modem to modem and share my DSL net connection. Also I'm using windows XP PRO w SP1 and I have no router, the DSL modem is directly connected to my NIC
