I have a question about Troubleshooting Driver Problems:

MY 'D' DRIVE AND WINDOWS 98 JUST DISSAPPEARED FROM MY COMPUTER AND I DON'T HAVE A DISC TO REBOOT. WHERE DID IT GO AND WHAT DO I DO NOW? I NEED THE WIN98 TO INSTALL MY NEW PRINTER.

SUZETTE,

I take it that your D: drive is your cdrom drive?
If it just disapeared and Windows can't find it, you may
have one of several problems. Motherboard, bios,
loose connections or even a bad drive (among
others). Loose connections can be checked easily
enough and if your comfortable, you can remove your
cd drive and take it in for testing. That's a start but I'm
sure there will be more suggestions.

Brian

well suzette the question is are you running w98 if so and d drive is a harddrive go to your system icon in device manager and check what you have installed .you can click on every piece of hardware and go to properties and see what is what if it cant be found it has to be reinstalled , if you have the internet you can find most drivers in a search for them on your search program of your choice , be patient and dont just use any driver be sure its compatable. if you have too much trouble get someone to download a reboot disk from a w98 cd and use that for diagnostic purposes. hope i helped !!!!
