Disable? You mean remove them?
Start -> Control panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Click on the middle tab, the one labelled
"Windows Setup". Scroll down to find "Communications", and select it, then click
on the "Details" button. Uncheck the items you want to remove (dial-up networking
etc.).

Jennie,
Do you just want to reconfigure your settings not to use LAN, or what is it you want
to do? Do you have a network, NIC, card installed?
You can change your connection settings in Internet Options - click the LAN tab and
uncheck everything. I assume you use a Dial-up connection? In that case, you don't
want to remove Dial-up Networking. It might be best to explain your situation in
more detail. :)
