Question about 'Get Rid of the Logon Screen'

I have a question about Get Rid of the Logon Screen:

When I first began using this computer three years ago, I created my own logon. This is the one I have been using for all this time. When the logon screen comes up and I hit "cancel," a different logon comes on--the default, I supose. I have no desire to ever use that default and I've become quite accustomed to all the settings I have under my logon. Is there a way to bypass this screen completely and load Windows directly under my logon? I've installed TweakUI and typed in my logon and password and unclicked the box under "Paranoia." I am still prompted to put in my password. I'm sorry if this question has already been answered; if so, I misunderstood the reply. Thank you so much for your time.

This is the normal method, but lacks some info in the Annoyances article you mentioned.

From the article.

================================
Windows 95/98/Me (If you don't have multiple users configured):

Open Control Panel, and double-click on the Network icon.
From the list entitled Primary Network Logon:, choose Windows Logon, and press OK.
================================

What may be missing is, restart the PC once the Primary Logon has been changed to
"Windows Logon", as above.

On rebooting the Logon window will appear again. Just enter your Name and NO PASSWORD, leave it blank, then OK it. Next time you start the PC the logon box should not appear. I have used this method and it does work.

On my Dell laptop, I had changed the user name and password. I hadn't used it for a few weeks and now it won't let me logon and has a "s1" user name. Is there any way to get by this so I can use my laptop? My OS is XP Pro if it makes a difference. Thxs
