I have a question about How do I uninstall Windows 98 quite frankly the computer crashed while i was on it. i tried to reboot, got 94% finished, then got an error code. errors were found on the c drive. i tried to use the scan disk and dfrag pgms; however the computer states it can not find them. i also did a search for them but w/o success.

Use your Windows Start-Up BOOTDISKETTE

From the DOS prompt run:

A:\>scandisk /all

 ... and then:

A:\>scandisk /all /surface [takes one hour per 10Gb of disk space]

 ... and then:

A:\>scanreg /fix , to repair the registry.

Try re-booting to safe mode and see if you can run defrag and your anti-virus scanner.

Try re-booting to the desktop.

This is the defrag from XP which is MUCH faster and does a MUCH better job on '98/ME
too!!!

XP DEFRAG FOR 98/ME DIRECT DOWNLOAD

Mac
OPEN OFFICE DICTIONARIES UNICODE '9x ME TUNING '98/ME FREEWARE '98/ME FDISK FORMAT '98/ME
