Reverse Alphabetical Order

Every time I go into any folder in Exlporer, it always appears in reverse alphabetical
order. Even when I right click, and choose "sort by name", it puts it in reverse
order. If I can manage to get it into alphabetical order, I'll try to save that folder
as the default for every folder, but that just turns the one I just did, and every
other folder, back to the annoying reverse alphabetical order. Is there any way to
fix this?

1. open explorer
2. click views or the down arrow next to views
3. choose DETAILS--->then click the NAME bar.
Clicking one way will produce A-Z, clicking again
will produce Z-A.
4. choose whatever view you wish to use.
Then go ahead and make everything apply to
ALL folders.

No, that didn't work. I tried that, and it just re-enforced the reverse order. Any
other ideas?

Great suggestion except that it DOES NOT WORK!
It ALWAYS reverts to the reverse order no matter WHAT you try!
Any one else know how to fix this problem?

No you just have to hold down some KEY combo as you exit windows explorer and it
remembers your last settings.
Like X or control X I think.

Hi
I don't know if you ever worked this out...but you can fix this problem by following
these steps.
When in the OPEN FILE window choose VIEW-DETAlLS.
Click on the header above the file names to order them correctly.
Next step is the crucial part.
Hold down the control (CTRL) key and click your mouse on the X to close this window
(don't let go of the Control Key until the window is completely closed).
Next time you open the window, Voila the problem is gone!
What a pain that was!!

Ordering the list alphabetically a to z, then holding down control while closing
the window worked! Thanks!

I can accept many inconveniences when working on the "old computer" -- but this reverse-alphabetical-order
thing was almost a deal-breaker. It was THAT annoying!
Thank you so much for this solution!
