i have no where else to ask about this and i can't find anywhere on the internet. how far in distance (feet, miles,etc) can 2.4ghz reach? also, what about 5.8 ghz? thanks if anyone knows

I can probably understand how you feel - but this is the 
Windows 98 forum!

1) Probably varies with different manufacturers.
2) Use Google and run a search.  A few clicks 
produced this:  "Current solutions can bridge a 
distance of usually 300 meters, this new chip set can 
reach up to 600 meters."  From this web site:

Words I typed in: distance 2.4ghz cordless phone
