I tried to update the driver for my display adapter to enable me to re-size my screen, and
switch to a 16high color setting. Ever since I've been having trouble. When I turn
on the laptop, the massage I recieve is,"there is a problem with your display settings.
In the system properties/device manager.under display adapter, they're both marked
with a yellow exclamation point. Thank you for your time. I hope you can give me
a lil' advice. my op sys. is win98se.

most probably the wrong driver, you must obtain the exact driver needed by your video
graphics card or chip. You neglected to tell us the model or brand of your graphics
adapter.

Did you get the adapter from your laptop manufacturer? If not the laptop may not
support any higher resolution than what came with the machine.

Go to the laptop's manufacture site and click on support or driver download or downloads
or something similar to get the propper drivers for your laptop model.
