You can use "Winfile.exe". It's a Windows 3.1-style explorer and you can view files
by extension with it.
It's included in regular installations of Windows 95 and 98. I don't know about
Windows 2000, Me and XP.

Do, "Start", "Run" and type "Winfile" in the "Open" edit box.
You'll see the File Manager I'm talking about. To sort files by extension, select
"View" in the menu and then "Sort by Type", which really sorts by extension.
