Try a Registry restore, if that doesn't help rename the two files below. If renaming the files works, there will be some editing necessary, so post back. Boot, press and hold the 'CTRL' key to enter the boot menu. Select the 'COMMAND PROMPT ONLY' option and press enter. At the C:\> prompt, type 'SCANREG /RESTORE' and press enter. When the screen appears, select a backup dated before this problem occurred. Finish out the backup process and then reboot. Boot to the 'COMMAND PROMPT ONLY' as above, from the C:\> prompt: Type REN AUTOEXEC.BAT AUTOEXEC.OLD (note the two spaces) and press enter. Type REN CONFIG.SYS CONFIG.OLD (note the two spaces) and press enter. Restart the system..........
