Question about 'Get the latest drivers'

I have a question about Get
the latest drivers:
i am running windows 98 se, amd k6 233mhz laptop.
i am having a boot problem when i remove the floppy and replace it with the battery.
the laptop uses the same bay for both. when i do this my system hangs at the "msmouse.vxd"
line of the system.ini file. i can hotswitch it, but this is not ideal.
it boots fine when i keep the floppy drive in the bay, but then i can't use my laptop
without keeping it plugged into the wall. i would like to be able to boot up with
the battery in the laptop and no floppy.
i can't seem to fix this and would appreciate any helpful suggestions you can offer.
thanks,
john

Adjust your bios to boot your harddrive 1st then your floppy. Also disable a: drive
seek at start up if it has it.

I wouldn't flash it, if you have a power failure or somthing bad happens, then no
more laptop. If it aint broke don't fix it. I haven't falshed mine either and I have
dule bios just incase I loose 1. But I see no need to flash it.

the reason i want to flash it is that i upgraded from windows 95 to 98se and i believe
that this upgrade may require it. hopefully once i flash it i will stop getting
"windows protection errors" when i try and boot with the battery.
do you know how i would make a copy of my current bios on a floppy?
thanks,
john
