I just purchased a Lexmark x75 printer for my PC after lusting after it for months.
NOW I can't get it to load on my PC and the tech at Lexmark told me I have to update
my VIA tech PCI to USB Universal Host Controller which is a 3038 and he says the
printer doesn't recognize it cause cause its too old.
Can anyone tell me where the heck to go to update it and how to do it???

You need to install the latest motherboard drivers for your system. Get them from
the manufacturer of your motherboard or from the chipset manufacturer.
USB devices are picky about the sequence in which installation occurs. Be sure to
install the printer software before you plug the printer in.
It's not a question of the printer recognizing your USB -- it's more along the lines
of the computer not knowing how to talk to the hardware or not understanding what
the hardware is saying.

You probably won't need this. Install and run this utility. The information you need
will be listed under System model.
Here's the link for the Via chipset drivers. They are usually a universal download,
and the program will detect your chipset for you. Via Drivers

Hello again. Belarc says I have VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8363. So now what do I do?
Yes I know, I'm the original Computer Dummy.

Use this same VIA...link
Download the latest driver version, VIAHyperion4in1v4.49.zip. Unzip the download
to a folder on your drive, or let your zip utility guide you through it, by clicking
the downloaded .zip file. This is bullet proof, it will only install/update the necessary
files required by your particular system.
If you should continue to have any USB related problems, there's also a USB Filter
patch available. Try the driver update first.
