I have a question about How do I disable the warning message when I view the Windows folder?:

Yeah, that. It doesnt work in Win 98se, possibly others too. I've had outstanding luck with this site untill this one. Followed directions explicitly without resolve. noc

Open Windows Explorer.

  1. Select the View menu entry.
  2. Select Folder Options from the menu.
  3. Select the View tab.
  4. Select the Show all files radio button.
  5. Click Apply
  6. then click the Like current folder button at the top of the same dialog page.

Here's a procedure that seems to work for that pesky Windows Show Files problem -- and it works for Windows 98SE. I found it at: http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,38601,pg,5,00.asp Here's a cut and paste of the pertinent section of that hint: But what if you want to see the folder as a Web page? Go to the folder in question (either C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System), and select View, Customize this Folder. On the first page of the resulting wizard, select Remove customization, click Next twice, and then click Finish. From now on, that folder will display as a Web page without problems. Paul
