Can't access the ''Display Properties'' window

I want to turn off my screensaver but I cannot open the "Display Properties" window. I have tried right clicking on the "Desktop", but when I click on "Customize My Desktop", nothing happens...the "Display Properties" window does not open. If I go to the "Start" menu and "Control Panel", when I click on "Display", the hourglass appears for about half a second but the "Display Properties" window still does not open. Can anyone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it or perhaps tell me another way to get into the "Display Properies" window? Thanks...Gerry

Try this to disable the screensaver (back up the registry just incase you make a mistake)

Start > Run > regedit > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop in the righthand pane double click ScreenSaveActive and set to 0
NOTE: "0" is a zero

You will need to reboot for the change to take affect.
